AFTERCARE:

I will send you home with everything you need to take care of your brows.

Day 1

The main goal is to keep heavy scabs from forming. The first 12-24 hours are crucial. Right after the procedure pat your eyebrows dry with a clean tissue. Two hours after your procedure, gently wash and blot excess water, air dry, and apply aftercare on brows every 2-3 hours. Wash them one more time before bed and apply the aftercare oil again.

Day 2-12

The scabbing phase may take up to 12 days, depending on how heavily you scab. I have all my clients wash their brows 1 time daily. This gentle wash should be the opposite of when you bathe or shower. The brows should be fully dry before washing. Aside from this cleansing, you must keep your brows away from water and moisture as much as possible. I will also send you home with special oil to moisturize your brows during this time period. You must apply this to your brows at least 2 times a day, on fully dry brows.

Your tattooed brows are not set in your skin until they have fully healed. You must fully form and shed your scabbing before it is permanent in your skin. If the scabbing comes off too early, you will lose pigment in that area. As a general rule, you must keep your scabbing for a full five days in order to keep pigment in that area. If you sweat too heavily during this time period, the saline can eat away the pigment before the skin has closed.

You will begin to notice the light scabbing on your brows the very next morning after your appointment, and even see it start to flake away about day 5-7. This is completely normal!

Once you scab free you do not need to oil your brows any longer. You also may fill them in at this point until your touchup appointment, as they are maybe patchy.

The following must be avoided during all 14 days post-treatment:

  • Increased sweating

  • Practicing sports

  • Swimming

  • Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi

  • Sun tanning or salon tanning

  • Exposure to UV/UVA Rays or chemicals as they have been known to cause a shift in color and premature fading

  • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid on the treatment area

  • Touching of the treatment area except for when applying the post-care ointment with a cotton swab

  • Picking, peeling, or scratching the treatment area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment

  • Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris

  • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds

  • Driving in open-air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles

Long Term Care:

  • Please inform your technician and/or care provider of your permanent cosmetics with any future MRI scans, chemical peels, or laser procedures

  • Use of Retin A/Retinol/Tretinoin, chemical, acid peels, or any rapid skin exfoliation products used on or around the eyebrow area will cause the permanent makeup to fade prematurely

Additional Important Information:

Please be aware that the result of the procedure is depending on the following: medications and health conditions, skin conditions such as oily, unhealthy, dry/flaky, loose and/or lax skin, poor diet and not following the aftercare instructions. All of these things can affect your healed results. Antacids, thyroid, and anxiety medications have been reported as interfering with permanent makeup either by affecting retention or shifting the pigment to an undesirable tone. With that information, an educated client may have better expectations and know that they may need more frequent adjustments than others. The better you take care of your skin and protect it from UV rays, the better the outcome and lifespan of the permanent cosmetic procedures.

Contact a physician if any signs or symptoms develop such as the following: fever, redness at the site, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, elevated body temperature, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, and/or any green/yellow discharge that is foul in odor.
